The vitality of our communities is at the heart of everything we do. We believe in supporting like-minded organizations that help make our communities great.
To underscore this commitment, we’re donating a total of $9,000 to five local, non-profit organizations. Our five finalist have been chosen! A community-wide vote is now open through November 22. Learn more about these five organizations and then vote!
The organization with the most votes gets the top donation of $5,000! The remaining four organizations each receive a $1,000 donation.
CASA for Kids Inc.
CASA for Kids, Inc. trains, mentors, and provides court-appointed special advocate volunteers so every child in foster care has a person advocating for their needs in the court system and community. CASA ensures children's voices are heard, their needs met, and they have a safe, supportive, and permanent home with ample opportunity to thrive.
Focus On Love Foundation
The Focus On Love Foundation provides emotion coaching and vision care advocacy for children, parents and community through workshops and online resources to successfully explore, understand, and govern emotions through photography. Technology has diminished interpersonal skills with anxiety and depression increasing in children, and Focus On Love aims to provide a safe environment to help children and parents better navigate today’s world.
Happy Feet Pet Rescue
Happy Feet Pet Rescue is a compassionate nonprofit organization committed to assisting dogs and cats in distress. Its mission is to provide these animals with a nurturing home environment, ensuring they receive essential care and support, all while sparing them from the strains of living outside or in deplorable conditions. Moreover, Happy Feet is establishing an outreach program designed to assist community members experiencing financial constraints by offering affordable spay/neuter services and access to food and supplies for their pets.
Michigan’s Grand Army of the Republic Memorial Hall and Museum
Eaton Rapids, MI
Located in downtown Eaton Rapids, Michigan’s Grand Army of the Republic Hall and Museum is the only museum in Michigan exclusively dedicated to the memory of the Union veterans of the Civil War and the fraternal, veterans’ organization they founded. The museum serves as an educational resource and assists with community Memorial Day and Independence Day parades.
Mitten Misfits Farm Sanctuary
Grand Ledge, MI
Mitten Misfits Farm Sanctuary is a nonprofit that recues senior farm animals and provides a forever home. It partners with area humane societies, animal control agencies and has an extensive volunteer base that helps with animal care. Mitten Misfits also partners with other nonprofits that assists individuals with mental health issues ranging from autistic youth to learning disabilities, as well as veterans with PTSD.
